This is a big thing. No, actually it’s two big things. Womenize! and Madeleine Egger are among the nominees for the Deutscher Entwicklerpreis, the renowned and oldest award for game development in Germany, Austria and Switzerland!

We’re proud and honored that Womenize! has been nominated for the “Sonderpreis der Jury” (the Jury’s Special Award)!
In the their statement, the Jury acknowledges that “the initiative demonstrates that diversity does not happen on its own; it requires spaces and dedicated individuals to foster it.”
The Jury “particularly commends the continuity and community spirit of Womenize!, as well as its vital contribution to a gaming industry where more people can find their place and develop their skills.”

Also nominated in this category are game – The German Games Industry Association, for its commitment to democracy and an open society, and RAW TALENT Booth, which brings together 18 European universities, giving 380+ students the opportunity to showcase their indie games at gamescom 2026.

The nominees of the NRW-Foerderpreis of DEP 2026: Denise Bieber, Lena Laaser and Madeleine Egger

In another category, the “NRW-Förderpreis” (Advancement Award of North Rhine-Westphalia), our Head of Womenize!, Madeleine Egger is also nominated!

The Jury states:
“Madeleine Egger is dedicated to advancing diversity, equity, and visibility for marginalized people in the games industry. Furthermore, she brings diversity topics to other industry events and works to expand networks and tangible opportunities for marginalized talent.”

But also Madeleine’s co-nominees are closely connected to us, especially to the upcoming Womenize! NRW Chapter: Denise Bieber is the program director for this event, and Lena Laaser will be our host. 🙂

The award show of the Deutscher Entwicklerpreis 2026 will take place on December 8 in Cologne. (Tickets are available here)

Join us for the evening in Cologne (or via livestream) and keep your fingers crossed for us! 🤞🏼
